Academy Information

Dance to Glory Academy of Austin is a Classical Christian Ballet Academy which was founded in 2007. The Academy was started as an obedient act of The Lord’s instruction to bring the Light of Christ’s amazing love to Austin through the art of ballet. Our purpose is to train students at a high level in their classical dance education in a safe Christ centered environment.

Our goal is to classically train our students to prepare and equip them to be able to pursue a professional career and create an environment to afford every student the ability to enjoy dancing with a mastery of the fundamentals, so that the students are prepared to pursue their passion at the highest level as an avenue of worship. We understand, however, that this goal is not shared by every student but we believe this training also applies for students who are not pursuing a professional carrier in dance. Our desire is that every student has the ability to enjoy their dancing as an avenue of worship. We use only classical and Christian music in our classes and performances. Our focus is to bring glory and honor to the Lord through dance.

We have found that as students grow in this classical form of dance training, they also develop diligence in their work ethic, a healthy respect for authority, and a drive to pursue excellence with a spirit of humility. We find that our students learn life skills from their classical dance training that also applies to other areas of their life.

All Academy classes follow a classical ballet syllabus. Our syllabus utilizes the method of examinations in order to progress to the next level of ballet. The lower grades syllabus is based on Cecchetti and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) techniques of classical ballet.  The upper levels advance into the Russian method also known as the Vaganova technique.

The classes offered start at the beginner level (starting at age 3) and continue through the professional level of dance education. All Academy classes are by placement only.

We also offer Tap Classes for each level of ballet, Modern Classes for grade 3 and up, and Drama Classes for ages 8 and up.
